Help when something is not working

The school account is for Minecraft and Minecraft programming classes. Roblox and 3D design classes do not need a school account; there, students use their own account.

Every student in our Minecraft classes has a personal school account. We send the login details to the parent's email address once the group has been finalised.

Usernames are written without Latvian diacritics (long vowel marks and softening marks). For example, Jānis Bērziņš signs in as janis.berzins@reti.lv.

Can't find the email with your login details? First check your spam folder. If it is not there, write to us and we will send it again. We do not change passwords routinely, so if you really do need a new one, write to us and we will do it together.

Log in to e-klase with your child's personal identity code and password. The password was sent to the phone number you provided and, if you also gave your child's number in the application, to that number as well.

The link to the online class is in e-klase, below the class description. Open the class in question and you will see the link there.

The link may look slightly different for each class, but they all lead to the same thing: a video call. In e-klase it is a blue button labelled "Pieslēgties" (Connect) or "Pievienoties" (Join).

The button only works from the "Skolēns" (Student) profile. You cannot join a class from the "Vecāks" (Parent) or "Cita atbildīgā persona" (Other responsible person) profile, and the button is then grey. The active profile is shown in the top right corner of the screen, but it cannot be changed there. To switch profiles, log out and log in again with your child's password.

If you no longer have the e-klase password or cannot log in, write to us and we will send it again.

The Roblox account belongs to the student, not the school, so the password is reset on the Roblox website. You will need the email address or phone number linked to the account.

Click the button below to reset the password. A Roblox page will open where you enter the email address or phone number linked to the account, and instructions for creating a new password will be sent there.

The school can neither see nor change Roblox passwords. The account belongs to the student and is managed by Roblox, so writing to us will not help in this case. If neither an email address nor a phone number is linked to the account and recovery fails, contact Roblox Support.

1. Close Roblox Studio completely and open it again.
2. Make sure you are signed in to the same account that was used in class.
3. Save projects with Save to Roblox, not just on the computer. That way they will also be available on other devices.
4. If Studio does not open at all, reinstall it using the download section on this page.

Sign in with the school account vards.uzvards@reti.lv. If you see a message saying the account was not found or is not allowed:

1. check that the username has been entered without typos;
2. make sure you are using Minecraft Education, not the regular version of Minecraft;
3. update Minecraft Education to the latest version, as older versions sometimes will not let you sign in;
4. if several children use the same computer, sign out of the previous account.

Errors like these usually mean the program has got confused between two accounts. It helps to go in through the demo first and only then sign in with the school account:

1. open Minecraft Education;
2. in the sign-in window, below the Sign in button, choose Try a demo lesson;
3. accept the terms;
4. click Play;
5. choose Unlock full game;
6. enter the school account vards.uzvards@reti.lv and password.

If the error keeps appearing, sign out of all accounts, close the program completely and repeat the steps. If that still does not help, you can reinstall the program; see the section on uninstalling below.

The teacher guides everyone into the world, and the join code is made up of four pictures, so parents do not need to enter it. If joining still does not work:

1. check your internet connection, as Minecraft Education is sensitive to it;
2. restart your internet router or, if possible, connect to the internet from another source, for example your phone;
3. if parental controls or a VPN are active at home, turn them off for the duration of the class;
4. ask the class teacher which version of Minecraft Education is being used and check that the student has the same one;
5. message us on WhatsApp, as we will see it straight away during class.

1. Make sure the version you downloaded matches your system, Windows or macOS.
2. Update your graphics card drivers, as outdated drivers are the most common cause of slow performance.
3. During class, close other programs and any browser tabs you do not need.
4. If Blender closes immediately after opening, reinstall it. Download only the official app from the link in the "Software" section of this page. Versions from other sources are often outdated or unsafe.

If a program will not open, freezes or keeps showing the same error, removing it completely and reinstalling it usually helps. First, write down which school account is used, so you can sign back in after reinstalling.

On iPads and other tablets, remove the app by holding your finger on its icon and choosing delete, then reinstall it from the App Store or Google Play. Projects saved to the account are not lost when you uninstall.

Online classes take place in Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Before the class, the teacher lets you know which one will be used.

Sign in to Teams with the same email address that is linked to the Minecraft account, that is, vards.uzvards@reti.lv and the same password. You do not need to create a separate Teams account. If Teams asks you to choose between a work and a personal account, choose the work or school account.

Zoom does not require an account. Just open the link shown in e-klase below the class description.

1. Check that the browser or app is allowed to access the microphone and speakers.
2. Select the correct device in the app's settings, as the computer's built-in audio is often selected instead of the headphones.
3. Unplug the headphones and plug them back in, then restart the app.
4. If that does not work, join the class from a different browser or restart the computer.

Class links are not sent by email. Everything is in e-klase. Open the class in question and the link will be shown below the class description.

If you have found the link but the join button is grey, check which profile you are logged in with. You can only join a class from the profile "Skolēns" (Student). The active profile is shown in the top right corner of the screen. If it is not "Skolēns", log out and log in again with your child's password.
